Whether it's a spicy night in or with mates watching the football (once the world re-opens of course), these chicken wings are a tasty addition to your Saturday night.
You will need:
2 Teaspoons of Spice Spice Baby seasoning
3 Tablespoons of cornflour
16Chicken wings
Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce or your favourite sweet BBQ sauce
Recipe
We made these wings in two ways, so we split half of the wings and cooked them without the sweet sauce and the other we half was brushed halfway through the cooking process with the Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. Let us know which you prefer.
Step 1) Add the Spice Spice Baby seasoning to the cornflour and mix well until it's well combined.
Step 2) Mix the dry mixture into the chicken wings to coat the wings thoroughly
Step 3) Fire up the BBQ and add a chunk or two of your favourite wood (we used apple and oak). As you can see from the picture below, we placed the fire in the centre of the BBQ to create a vortex and so that the chicken wings do not cook on direct heat. The BBQ needs to reach 225°C / 437°F. If you are cooking in the oven, pre-heat the oven to the same temperature 225°C / 437°F.
Step 4) Cook the wings over the indirect heat for around 40 mins or until the internal temp is 75°C / 167°F. If you want the sticky sweet coating, at about the 30-minute mark brush with the Sweet Baby Ray's sauce.
